Information on Prints Originals: If asked, I always advise clients to buy original artwork if they can afford to do so. Originals are one of a kind and represent many hours of work and experience. They will always have superior longevity and the potential to increase in value. Most of my work never becomes a print but I like to have some reproductions of my work available because not everybody has the budget for originals or the desire or need for superior longevity. Iris Giclée Prints: Although an original will always be superior this print is the next best alternative as the quality is superb and the edition size small. The print is made by scanning the original artwork into a computer at the highest resolution possible, to capture all of the nuances and colour of the original. It is then reproduced on watercolour paper or canvas. With proper care they will last many years. As they are made as needed there is some flexibility on the print size. The number of prints I make from an image is kept small and I sign and number each one. Limited Edition Prints: These are made on a printing press. The whole edition is printed at the same time therefore the size can not be altered. I choose to use only the best rag paper, printers and inks, so that the work I have as Limited Edition Prints is of very high quality. The edition size of my Limited Editions is kept small. Each one is signed and numbered by me. With proper care they will also last many years. |
